## What it is

**MumenLabs Add Page Numbers to PDF** stamps a page-number label onto every
page of a PDF **entirely inside the visitor's browser**. Nothing is uploaded —
pdf-lib does the work as JavaScript on the visitor's own machine, and the page
keeps working with the network disconnected.

## Price

**Free.** No account, no email, no watermark, no daily cap, no page limit
imposed by the tool. There is nothing to buy on this page.

## What it does

- **Six placements** — top or bottom, each left, center, or right.
- **Four label formats** — "3", "3 of 12", "Page 3", or "Page 3 of 12".
- **Custom starting number** — from -9999 to 99999, so counting can start at 0,
  a negative number, or any other value, not just 1.
- **Skip a cover page** — set "first numbered page" to 2 (or higher, up to
  99999) and every page before it is left untouched.
- **Font size** from 4 to 96 points, and **margin** (distance from the page
  edge) from 0 to 200 points.
- **A live text preview** shows exactly how the label will read (e.g. "Page 3
  of 12") before you commit.
- **Rotation-aware placement.** The tool reads each page's own `/Rotate` value
  and places the label in the corner the reader actually sees — so a "bottom
  right" label lands bottom-right even on a rotated or sideways-scanned page,
  upright and readable.
- **No page-count limit** imposed by the tool. A very large PDF is limited by
  the device's own memory, not by a server queue or a plan tier.

## What it does not do

- **No color or font choice.** Every label is drawn in **black, standard
  Helvetica** — there is no color picker, no bold/italic, no alternate font.
- **No roman numerals or letters.** Only the four Arabic-numeral formats above
  exist.
- **Cannot number a range in the middle or stop before the end.** "First
  numbered page" only skips a prefix (like a cover); once numbering starts it
  continues to the last page of the document — there is no way to number just
  pages 5–10, for example.
- **No page-content preview.** The live preview is a text sample of the label
  only, not a rendered image of the actual page.
- **Cannot open password-protected PDFs.** A file that needs a password to
  open fails with an error.
- **English only.** There is no `/ar` twin of this page.

in the correct visible corner, upright.
