## What it is

**MumenLabs Document Tracking** turns a PDF proposal, deck, or contract into a
share link that reports back: a notification the moment it's opened, and
page-by-page read time so you know what was actually read, not just that a
link was clicked. The reader opens it in their browser, page by page — no
account, no app, on either side.

The free first document is granted **once per account, permanently** — it is
recorded in a separate table the moment it's claimed, so deleting that
document does not restore the free grant. $10 of credit buys about 15 tracked
documents at $0.65 each; credits never expire and there is no subscription.

## What it does

- **Real-time "opened" alerts** — a notification the instant a person opens
  the document, first-open-only by default or every open if you're mid-deal.
  Automated fetches from chat-app link previews and inbox security scanners
  are recognized and never counted as a read.
- **Page-by-page read analytics**: which pages were viewed, how long on each,
  and where the reader stopped, plus an overall read-through figure.
- **Per-person attribution**: send each recipient their own link and every
  open is already tied to them, or switch on a name-and-email gate for a
  single shared link.
- **Password, expiry date, and pause** on any document — pausing genuinely
  closes it, since every page is served through the tracked link itself, not
  as a standalone file.
- **Replace the file without a new link.** Upload a corrected PDF and the same
  link, including every named person's own copy, starts serving it — no new
  charge.
- **NDA / confidentiality acceptance** before the first page appears, recorded
  with the reader's name, email, and timestamp.
- **Optional download** of the original PDF, off by default.
- **CSV export** of the full open/read log.
- Up to **300 pages** per document.

## What it does not do

- **Only the very first document is free** — every account gets exactly one,
  ever, regardless of how many are later deleted.
- **No per-seat or monthly plan.** It is pay-per-document credits, not a
  subscription — there is nothing to cancel and nothing charged in a month you
  send nothing.
- **No native app**, for the sender or the reader — both sides are a browser.
- **No stated money-back guarantee.**
- **Watermarking, if used, does not prevent a screenshot** — it only makes a
  leaked copy traceable to the reader's own address.
- **Does not track documents shared outside its own link** — an emailed
  attachment or a link pasted elsewhere carries none of this.

## How it works, step by step

1. **Upload a PDF** at https://mumenlabs.com/services/doc-tracking — it
   renders to page images in your own browser, so previewing exactly what your
   client will see is free.
2. **Turn it into a tracked link** — free the first time ever, $0.65 after
   that — optionally adding a password, an expiry date, or a name-and-email
   gate.
3. **Send the link** by email, WhatsApp, or wherever the client already is.
4. **Get notified the moment it's opened**, then watch page-by-page read time
   arrive so you know when and what to follow up on.

## Languages

The product page has a real Arabic twin at `/ar/services/doc-tracking`, and
the owner dashboard is wired with a full Arabic translation. The reader-facing
viewer is set per document (English or Arabic, chosen by the sender) and is
fully right-to-left when Arabic is selected.

## Questions people actually ask

**Is document tracking really free?** The first tracked document on any
account is free. After that it's $0.65 per document, paid from a credit
balance — not a subscription.

**Does the free document come back if I delete it?** No. The free grant is
recorded once per account and does not reset.

**Do I pay to upload or preview?** No — only generating the live, shareable
tracked link spends a credit (or the one free grant).

**Does an alert fire when I paste the link into WhatsApp or Slack to send it?**
No. Those platforms fetch the page automatically to build a preview; that
fetch is recognized and shown separately, never counted as a read or an
alert.

**Can I fix a typo after sending the link?** Yes — upload the corrected PDF
and the same link (including any per-person links already sent) starts
serving it, with no new charge.

**Can it be read in Arabic?** Yes, per document, chosen by the sender, fully
right-to-left.
